Travel by Plane

You can either fly to Budapest (Liszt Ferenc Airport) (http://www.bud.hu/)
or to the Vienna (Schwechat) Airport.
The latter is closer by distance, but Budapest has better public transportation connection to Kőszeg.


Attention please: Direct transfer by car from the Airport to the Conference venue

There is a possibility to order an airport transfer which would directly transfer the participants from the airport to the conference venue. Participants flying to Vienna are highly recommended to take this offer.
The cost depends on the number of passenger in the car.

Travel by Train

From Budapest you should take an InterCity train from the Keleti Pályaudvar (Eastern Railway Station) to Szombathely. Then take a local train to Kőszeg. Please consult the timetable at Hungarian State Railways’ (MÁV) homepage (https://www.mavcsoport.hu/en).
From Vienna Central Station you can take a train to Sopron, and then a local train to Kőszeg via Szombathely. Alternatively you take public transportation from Vienna to Oberpullendorf, which is some 17 km from Kőszeg. Then take a taxi to Kőszeg.


Travel by Car

From the direction of Vienna you should take the A3 motorway till you can switch to the S31 motorway at Eisenstadt (Kismarton). Take this motorway to its end at Oberloisdorf (Felsőlászló) and continue at the #61 road to Kőszeg. It should take 1.5 hours.
From the direction of Budapest you should take the M1 (E60) motorway. Leave the motorway at Csorna and take the M86 motorway all to its end at Szombathely. Then take the road #87 to Kőszeg. It should take 2.5 hours. From the direction of Slovenia / Croatia / Italy you should take road #86 to Szombathely and then road #87 to Kőszeg. Alternatively you can take the A9 motorway and then the A2 motorway in Austria to get close to Kőszeg.


VISA

Citizens of the EU/EEA member states may travel to Hungary without a visa.
